At times life can become overwhelming and the strategies that previously help us cope can get in the way of us living the life that we aspire towards. Sometimes, seeking help from a professional is the best step towards overcoming the difficulties you are experiencing. I provide evidence-based therapies to support you in recovering from difficulties with your mental health to enable you to pursue a life that is personally meaningful and worthwhile.

A BIT ABOUT THERAPY

As Clinical Psychologists, we are trained to work across the lifespan to support people to overcome emotional, cognitive, and behavioral difficulties. I use an integrative therapeutic approach depending on your needs. I most often offer short-term therapy based on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) or Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprogramming (EMDR) and draw on other therapeutic approaches within my work, depending on the best fit for you. When we meet we can discuss the therapeutic approach that would best meet your goals for therapy.

My particular areas of interest are:

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Social Anxiety

Difficulties related to stress management

Depression

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Relationship Difficulties

Phobias

Peri and Postnatal mental health difficulties

Adjustments to difficult life circumstances such as work-related stress, becoming a parent, adjusting to being diagnosed with an illness

TREATMENT AND FEES

First Step

If you would like to pursue therapy then the initial step is for us to have a brief conversation over the phone or email. This will allow me to answer any questions you may have as well as find out about the difficulties you are currently struggling with

First session

Following this, we will arrange our first session. For the initial session, we agree together on how many sessions may be most beneficial for you. In the first session, we aim to develop an understanding of your current difficulties and plan our therapeutic approach. Sometimes we find that the first session is all that is needed at that time however we would usually agree on a set amount of sessions to enable you to achieve your therapeutic goal

Starting therapy

Most often we will agree on weekly, 50-minute therapy sessions. Where possible we will agree a regular time. Research indicates that consistency rather than frequency is the better determinate of the positive outcome of therapy
